Dr. Robina M. Smith, Breast Cancer Surgeon, has been called a lifesaver, a miracle worker and a revival artist for her unique ability to combine her talents as an artist with her God given gifts to help women overcome and face the challenges of Breast Cancer. Her years as a freelance Medical Illustrator and Oncoplastic Breast Surgeon has given her an unusually broad base experience with which she can effectively communicate, diagnose and remedy a womans complex problem.

 

She is an accomplished speaker, author, poet and presenter. She currently is the only fellowship trained female Breast Cancer Surgeon at St Jude Medical Center and the Physician liaison to the Commission On Cancer from the American College of Surgeons. She is on the Board of Directors for Susan G. Komen, Orange County Affiliate. She sits on the panel for the Susan G. Komen's African American Women Initiative for

OC and LA Affiliates.

 

She has be awarded the Women of the Year in Health

by the LA County Board of Directors and the Commission for Women 2014, Cambridge's Who's Who in Surgical Oncology 2010, Who's Who in Black

Los Angeles, Advisor to the 100 Black Men of Long Beach Health and

Wellness, and Member of the Susan G Komen African American Breast Initiative Community Partners/Circle of Promise.She holds membership positions in some of the most notable organizations such as the American Society of Breast Surgeons, American Society of Breast Disease, Society of Black Academic Surgeons, Association of Woman Surgeons, Association of Black Women Physicians, Cambridge Whos Who and The Denise Roberts Breast Cancer Foundation. She has received recognition from The City of

Long Beach, The California State Assembly and the State California

Senate.

 

She received her Bachelors of Fine Arts at the Rochester

Institute of Technology, Medical degree from MCP-Hahnemann School of Medicine Philadelphia PA, Surgical residency from New York Methodist Hospital Brooklyn New York and Breast Surgical Oncology fellowship from the USC/Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center Los Angeles CA.Dr. Smith is the founder of Treasure Your Chest, LLC a nonprofit organization aimed at education and awareness for the risks for Breast cancer and breast disease for African American women. Dr. Smith is a God fearing woman whose passion for helping and healing can be seen by all who come in contact with her.
